Jakub Vrana, Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin also scored for the Capitals (20-12-1), who have won six straight in Boston. The Capitals have not lost to the Bruins since March 29, 2014, 3-2 at home.
Braden Holtby made 34 saves and has won nine straight against the Bruins. He is 13-2-0 against Boston.
Washington has won six of its past seven games.
"Obviously, our goaltending is the best you can ask for in the League," Chiasson said. "Always [Holtby made] some big saves at key moments to keep us in the game, and that's a huge part of our team success."
Patrice Bergeron scored two goals, David Krejci scored, and Anton Khudobin made 17 saves for the Bruins (15-10-4), who had won three straight.

"The first thing is we wanted to be more physical, more assertive than in the past against the [Capitals], at least in my experience here," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. "… Against a team that was sitting here waiting for us and we played the night before, might have been a tall task. But that's how I feel we had to play against Washington. There's been too much of chasing the game. As it turned out we ended up doing that again."
The Capitals thought they had scored the first goal 2:16 into the first period when Lars Eller put in a rebound of his own shot, but the call was overturned on a challenge by Cassidy when it was ruled Washington's Brett Connolly was offside.
Vrana gave the Capitals a 1-0 lead with 2:26 remaining in the period. He took Matt Niskanen's pass at the Washington blue line, skated wide to the right and then made a move to the inside around Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk before beating Khudobin high to the stick side.
Bergeron tied it 1-1 with a power-play goal 4:22 into the second period.
Backstrom put the Capitals back ahead 2-1 with a power-play goal at 12:05 of the second when he tipped Evgeny Kuznetsov's shot past Khudobin.
Chiasson made it 3-1 with a goal from the top of the Boston crease at 7:52 of the third period. He then scored on a shorthanded breakaway at 11:31 for a 4-1 lead.

Krejci scored on a tip-in with 3:40 left to make it 4-2.
Ovechkin scored into an empty net to make it 5-2 with 1:29 left.
Bergeron scored on the power play with 27 seconds left to make it 5-3.

They said it

"I think I just tried to get lots of speed and saw the defense was kind of turning so I just tried to take advantage of it and tried to get a little breakaway there, and thankfully it went in." -- Capitals forward Jakub Vrana on his goal
"At some point you definitely want to get it over with and win those games. It's not something necessarily that I was thinking before the game ... we knew it was a challenge and we had to be good and be smart. A few breakdowns and a little lack of discipline [and they] made us pay is the bottom line."-- Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron on the 11-game losing streak against the Capitals
