Attention NHL fashion scene: Turtlenecks are back. But only because Tomas Plekanec was back playing against his old team.

The Toronto Maple Leafs played their first game against the Canadiens since aquiring Plekanec on February 25 after he spent 13 seasons in Montreal.
During that long time with the Canadiens, Plekanec developed a unique sense of fashion. He always wore a turtleneck.
Why? It was well documented that he had no reason.

So some of his former Canadiens teammates, Brendan Gallagher, Jeff Petry, Jacob de la Rose and Artturi Lehkonen to be exact, rocked the turtleneck during warmups as a not-so-subtle nod to their friend.

Five turtlenecks on the ice at once is easily a season high and maybe even a league record, but we will have to get back to you on that one.
