The Pittsburgh Penguins had some star power in the building at PPG Paints Arena on Thursday, and not just on the ice.

Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks was in attendance, clad in a black Penguins jersey, and got a big hand from the crowd.

Before Hanks was revealed to the crowd, a short sampling of some of his iconic roles was played on the scoreboard. The compilation included clips from "Big," "A League of Their Own," "Forrest Gump," "Toy Story," "Cast Away," "Sully," and "Saving Private Ryan."
Hanks must be glad hockey is back. He was once famously seen asking, very politely it is noted, for an official review at Staples Center during a Los Angeles Kings game against the Calgary Flames.
