Sharks team scope

The San Jose Sharks have won the first two games of their six-game road trip, getting strong play from defenseman Brent Burns, who scored a goal in each of the wins against the Washington Capitals and Florida Panthers. "He's a game-changing type player," coach Peter DeBoer said. "That's what he does." Burns leads the Sharks with six goals. "This league is all about just winning," Burns said. "Getting two points and it starts all over the next night." The Sharks are 4-4-0 on the road.

Lightning team scope

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin, who sustained an upper-body injury on Nov. 1, participated in the Lightning's optional skate, but will not play against the Sharks. He is expected to return to the lineup at some point during the Lightning's five-game road trip, which begins Monday at the New York Islanders. "Hopefully on the road he's going to jump in," coach Jon Cooper said. "I couldn't tell you if it's the first game of the fifth game." Drouin, said that he would have to go through contact drills first but he feels like he's close. "It's getting better every day," Drouin said. Despite his absence, the Lightning power play has remaining strong, scoring two goals against the New York Islanders on Thursday.

Status report

Stralman missed practice for body maintenance purposes but is expected to be in the lineup. Bishop, who sat out the the Lightning's 4-1 win against the New York Islanders on Thursday, will start Jones is making his 11th straight start for San Jose.
