• Darcy Kuemper will start in goal ahead of Antti Raanta, who is nursing a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day. Kuemper has started two games since the Coyotes acquired him via trade with Los Angeles last month, and is 0-1-1 in those games with a 3.52 goals-against average. Raanta did not practice on Tuesday, but he did skate away from teammates on Wednesday morning. Adin Hill, whom the team recalled from the American Hockey League, could serve as Kuemper's backup should Raanta not be able to participate.
• The Coyotes are getting consistent goal production from their defensemen lately; at least one Arizona blueliner has scored a goal in six consecutive games.

• Oliver Ekman-Larsson has notched a point (one goal, two assists) in three straight games, and is averaging a point per game over the past eight games.
• Brad Richardson will play his first game in Vancouver since suffering a season-ending leg injury there last season on Nov. 17.

• Alex Goligoski remains away from the team because his wife is expecting their second child at any moment. He will rejoin the team soon after the baby is born.
• Zac Rinaldo is on the injured reserve list because of an upper-body injury.
• Laurent Dauphin is expected to play his first game since returning to the Coyotes via trade with Chicago in January. Dauphin played 32 games with Arizona from 2015-17. He has three goals and one assist on his NHL resume.

• Vancouver is 2-1-2 in its past five games and 18 points behind Los Angeles in the race for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference playoffs. The Canucks announced Tuesday that leading point producer Brock Boeser likely would miss the rest of the season because of a back injury suffered vs. the New York Islanders on Monday. Boeser leads NHL rookies with 29 goals and ranks second with 55 points. Bo Horvat and Brendan Leipsic both have produced two goals and three assists over the past three games. Jacob Markstrom is 4-1-0 with a .946 save percentage and 1.78 goals-against average in five career games vs. the Coyotes.
