Pellegrini Named Assistant General Manager

The New York Islanders President and General Manager Lou Lamoriello announced today that Steve Pellegrini has been named Assistant General Manager. He will work alongside current Assistant General Manager Chris Lamoriello.
Pellegrini joins the Islanders after working for the New Jersey Devils as the Vice President of Hockey Operations since 2006. With the Devils, Pellegrini worked on all hockey-related matters, including and not limited to, contract negotiation/salary arbitration preparation, collective bargaining agreement/salary cap compliance, scheduling and scouting.

"Steve brings over 20 years of knowledge and experience to our hockey operations," Islanders President and General Manager Lou Lamoriello said.
Prior to joining the Devils, Pellegrini spent eight seasons as Group Vice President of the NHL's Central Registry Department (1998-2006). There, he served on the league's CBA negotiating committee and assisted on CBA rules and regulation enforcement.
Pellegrini served as the Director of Hockey Administration from 1995 through 1998 for the Edmonton Oilers. He began his professional career working in the NHL's Community Relations Department in 1991.
At the competition of the 1991 school year, Pellegrini earned his graduate degree in sports administration from Montreal's Concordia University in 1991. He received his undergraduate degree in history from King's College at The University of Western Ontario.
