Devon Levi EDM status report 10-24-26

Welcome to the NHL Status Report. Here is the latest lineup/injury news around the NHL.

Edmonton Oilers

Devon Levi was placed on injured reserve by the Oilers ahead of their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; SNO, SNW, SNP). The goalie sustained an undisclosed injury during a 6-5 shootout win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, when he played the entire game and made 22 saves. Levi is 6-1-0 in seven starts this season with a 3.11 goals-against average and an .887 save percentage. Edmonton recalled goalie Matt Tomkins from Bakersfield of the American Hockey League under emergency conditions. ... Mattias Ekholm is expected to be out 1-2 weeks after the defenseman was helped off the ice early in the third period Thursday. His head hit the ice following a check into the boards from Hurricanes forward William Carrier. “Obviously, it didn’t look very pretty,” Oilers coach Mike Babcock said. "… He's a bit of a Viking anyway, so he’ll be OK in a couple of weeks or a week or 10 days or whatever. But someone else gets a chance."

Toronto Maple Leafs

Defensemen Nick Blankenburg (upper body) and Marshall Rifai (lower body) were each injured during the Maple Leafs’ 5-4 win against the New York Rangers on Thursday and are considered week to week. Rifai left during the morning skate; Blankenburg left after a hit by Rangers forward Will Cuylle. Each was placed on injured reserve, and defensemen Cole McWard and Dakota Mermis were recalled from Toronto of the AHL on Friday.

Anaheim Ducks

Pavel Mintyukov (lower body) was placed on injured reserve by the Ducks on Friday. The defenseman missed a 4-1 loss at the New Jersey Devils on Thursday and was ruled out for the finale of Anaheim’s four-game road trip at the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday (1 p.m. ET; FOXLA+, Prime Video, NHLN, NBCSP, SN). The Ducks recalled defenseman Travis Mitchell from San Diego of the AHL.

Chicago Blackhawks

Bowen Byram (upper body) is questionable for the Blackhawks against the Florida Panthers on Sunday (3 p.m. ET; CHSN, SCRIPPS, SN, TVAS). The defenseman has missed their past three games, including a 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday. Byram, who is day to day, has one assist in six games this season.

Florida Panthers

Gustav Forsling is questionable for the Panthers against the Blackhawks on Sunday (3 p.m. ET; CHSN, SCRIPPS, SN, TVAS). The defenseman took a puck to the face late in the third period of a 4-0 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday. Florida coach Paul Maurice did not have an update after the game.
