Kaprizov scores two in Wild win over Predators, 4-3

ST. PAUL, Minn. --Ryan Hartman scored with 21 seconds remaining for the Minnesota Wild, who recovered for a 4-3 win against the Nashville Predators at Xcel Energy Center on Sunday.

Jonas Brodin's shot from the left point hit off Predators defenseman Ryan McDonagh and Hartman's chest before deflecting into the net.
"When we're up 3-1 there with less than 10 minutes to go and they come back to 3-3, it's always mentally tough there," Minnesota goalie Filip Gustavsson said. "'Hartzy' came through there with 4-3 with 20 seconds left.
"It's a huge relief that we don't have to play overtime again."
Hartman's goal came after Nino Niederreiter tied it 3-3 on a redirection with Juuse Saros pulled for the extra skater.

"I feel like we were pressing hard, and we had enough chances to kind of get the tying goal," Niederreiter said. "Huge it went in, and then an unfortunate bounce at the end. The way that went in is unfortunate."

NSH@MIN: Hartman scores with 20 seconds left

Kirill Kaprizov scored twice, and Gustavsson made 23 saves for the Wild (30-21-5), who have won two straight after losing five of their previous six (1-4-1).
"Really happy we got the win, but ultimately it was too close," Kaprizov said. "We need to find a way to win clean, not make it a chaotic end like that. Whether it be on the power play, get the goal when we need to, but yeah, good win."
Tommy Novak had a goal and two assists, Roman Josi had a goal and an assist, and Saros made 31 saves for the Predators (26-22-6), who were coming off a 7-3 win against the Florida Panthers on Saturday.
Duhaime scored nine seconds into the second to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead when Frederick Gaudreau's shot deflected in off him in front.
Kaprizov extended the lead to 2-0 at 1:37, finishing a rebound in the slot for a power-play goal, but Novak cut it to 2-1 at 17:03.
"Sometimes you just go through ebbs and flows, shots going in," said Novak, who has three goals in the past two games. "My linemates have been playing really good with me the last two games. Got a bounce to get a 2-on-1 today, and ended up going in. I think just trying to play hard every shift and trying to keep consistently high level of play."

NSH@MIN: Kaprizov sprints up with the puck for goal

Kaprizov made it 3-1 at 1:23 of the third period, scoring glove side from the top of the left circle on a rush.
"We've talked about that before that we weren't getting pucks [to the net]," Wild coach Dean Evason said. "We're still getting pucks there. Our group is still playing Minnesota Wild hockey, that we're gritty, we're getting to the net. Those pucks just weren't getting there. Now we're getting a few pucks there. We're there, so you're collecting them or they're getting shot off your butt, which is fine."
Josi cut it 3-2 at 15:04, beating Gustavsson under his left arm from the top of the right circle.
"I liked it was a competitive hockey game," Predators coach John Hynes said. "I thought both teams played hard games, and it's a tough way to lose the game. But I liked that we pushed from behind ... and tied the game up, and unfortunate bounce on the game-winner."
