VANCOUVER -- The Minnesota Wild scored three power-play goals, including two in 55 seconds in the second period, in a 3-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on Tuesday.

Ryan Suter tied it 2-2 on a 5-on-3 with a slap shot from the top of the left circle at 15:36, and Jason Zucker gave the Wild a 3-2 lead with a one-timer from the right face-off dot off a cross-ice pass from Mikael Granlund at 16:31.
"When you get a 5-on-3 opportunity, you want to make sure you are taking advantage of it and we did that," Zucker said. "You want to make sure in any game you are winning the special teams battle. Our penalty kill did a really nice job on all their power plays (3-for-3) and we capitalized on all three of our power plays."

Zach Parise also scored on a power play, Granlund had two assists, and Devan Dubnyk made 29 saves for Minnesota (15-10-2), which had lost three straight.
"Special teams were great and [Dubnyk] made some key saves at the right times," Wild forward Eric Staal said. "Hopefully we can start a streak in the other direction."
Josh Leivo and Tyler Motte scored for Vancouver (11-16-3), which is 1-10-2 in its past 13 games. Anders Nilsson made 25 saves.
"You can't give up three on the PK," said Jay Beagle, who returned after missing 24 games because of a broken forearm. "We have to find a way, we have to be better, and I like to think that I'm a big part of that."

Leivo, who was acquired in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday for Michael Carcone, scored on his first shot to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead at 7:02 of the first period. He took a centering pass from Elias Pettersson off the rush and used Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon as a screen to beat Dubnyk high blocker side.
"He's got eyes in the back of his head and sometimes when you least expect it, it's on your tape. So I've just got to be ready whenever he's got the puck," Leivo said of playing with Pettersson. "It's exciting. I've got to make the most of it. I thought I battled hard and I've just got (to get) used to the speed. I'm not used to playing against the top line."
Parise redirected a one-timer from Matt Dumba to tie it 1-1 at 12:17.
Motte scored on a rebound in the left circle that went under Dubnyk's pads to make it 2-1 at 9:56 of the second period.
Dubnyk, who had allowed 19 goals in his previous five starts, made 14 saves in the third period, including a glove save on Pettersson on a partial breakaway at 7:52 and against Brock Boeser on a backdoor chance with 12 seconds left.
"It's just been a really weird stretch," Dubnyk said. "Not seeing a lot of shots, pucks finding their way in for whatever reason. You have to try harder and harder each game to not let it affect what you are doing and not to squeeze the stick. Tough way to start tonight when you are trying to get rid of that, but it was nice to get some work and get some shots and get back to the way we are used to feeling in here."

MIN@VAN: Suter rifles home one-timer on power play

They said it

"It's in control though. Guys are defending. It's not sitting back, it's just being smart and protecting the house and defending because you've earned a one-goal lead throughout the game, and I thought our guys did a great job of that." -- Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk on being outshot 14-5 in the third period
"Our team hasn't got the results, and it's hard when you don't win, but I'll give our team credit, they're going out and competing. They're not letting themselves not show up. And that's hard when you haven't won in a while." -- Canucks coach Travis Green
