WINDSOR, Colo.--The Colorado Eagles, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that defenseman Mark Barberio has been assigned to the Eagles on a conditioning loan.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound blueliner has netted one goal in 12 games with the Avalanche this season and has notched 14 goals and 40 assists in 251 career NHL games with Colorado, the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Barberio has also appeared in 261 AHL contests with the Norfolk Admirals, Syracuse Crunch and St. John's IceCaps, generating 35 goals and 137 assists in that time. He played in four AHL All-Star Games (2012, 2013, 2016, 2017) and helped the Admirals win the AHL Calder Cup in 2011-12, where he was also named the recipient of the Eddie Shore Award as the league's best defenseman
The Eagles return to action this weekend when they travel to Arizona to take on the Tucson Roadrunners for a two-game series on Friday and Saturday, March 29-30.
Colorado's AHL affiliate is currently tied for third place in the Pacific Division with a 33-24-5 record and 71 points.
