Kevin Hayes

Forward Kevin Hayes agreed to terms with the New York Rangers on Friday, avoiding an arbitration hearing that was scheduled for July 27 in Toronto.
Terms of the contract were not released by the Rangers, but it is for two years and has an average annual value of $2.6 million, according to General Fanager.
Hayes, 24, had 36 points (14 goals, 22 assists) in 79 regular-season games last season and had no points in three Stanley Cup Playoff games.

In two seasons with the Rangers, Hayes has 81 points (31 goals, 50 assists) and 52 penalty minutes in 158 regular-season games. He also has two goals and five assists in 22 playoff games.
Earlier Friday, the Rangers agreed to terms on a contract with forward Chris Kreider just before his arbitration hearing began. They previously avoided arbitration hearings with forward J.T. Miller and defenseman Dylan McIlrath by signing each to a new contract.
