Ryan Dzingel is set to return tonight against Montreal after missing the previous two games with a lower-body injury. Here's everything we know about the Sens line-up against the Canadiens.

Injury updates

As mentioned above, Dzingel has been given the green light for this evening and the timing couldn't be better with head coach Guy Boucher announcing that
Brady Tkachuk will miss about a month with a torn ligament in his leg
.
Thankfully, Dzingel's lower body injury was much less severe and after the team's 4-day break this week, he's ready to get back into action tonight against the Canadiens.
"We had a lot of time off with only 2 games and we had those 4 or 5 days off," said Dzingel. "It was a precautionary thing to make sure it didn't stretch out for the whole season."

Cody Ceci, Max McCormick and Alex Formenton are all nearing returns but aren't quite ready yet. They each took part in this morning's game day skate but will have to wait until next week (at the earliest) to get back into the line-up.
As a result, Nick Paul and Christian Jaros have been recalled from Belleville.

Up Front

The coach confirmed this morning that he'll once again roll with 11 forwards and 7 defencemen which means that Nick Paul will be the extra forward and isn't expected to draw into the line-up tonight.
One forward who has seen his role increase over the first 6 games of the season is Chris Tierney who is in the midst of a career-high 6 games point scoring streak. Boucher recently raved about his new centre's ability at both ends of the ice and praised Tierney for his 200-foot game and his team-first attitude.
Tonight will mark Tierney's first regular season game against the Canadiens as a member of the Sens and while he's excited to become a part of the rivalry, he's aware of how dangerous Montreal can be.
"They play with a lot of pace and speed," said Tierney. "They play hard and can roll 4 lines so they come at you in waves. If you aren't sharp and you aren't working hard then they can make you pay."

On Defence

It's hard to argue with success and that's what the Senators have had over their past two games and it's no coincidence that they've been using 7 defencemen over that span. Boucher has mentioned numerous times that he prefers the flexibility that 11/7 gives him as a coach but the defence corps also sees some advantages with the extra man on the bench.
"It's an interesting dynamic and your pairings can get a little mixed up but for the most part it's kept us pretty steady," said Mark Borowiecki following today's skate. "As strange as it sounds, I think it lets you go out there and play even harder. You don't have to worry as much about conserving energy, especially the guys that play big minutes, it lets you not have to worry about catching your breathe before your next shift."
With Ceci scheduled to miss his third game with an upper body injury, Borowiecki spoke about the team's defence group who have stepped up and helped fll that void, particularly his pairing with Ben Harpur who have drawn the assignments against the opposition's top lines.
"It's been a confidence boost for us for sure," Borowiecki shared. "We've had some tough matchups here and it's something that Ben and I have taken a lot of pride in the past few games. We were given a task to do and we've been doing our best to get it done."

Jaros, who we mentioned earier was recalled from Belleville, will draw into the line-up tonight to fill out that 7th spot.
And here's how the defence pairings could look tonight...
Chabot - DeMelo
Borowiecki - Harpur
Lajoie - Wideman
Jaros

In Goal

Craig Anderson (3-1-1) gets his third straight start in goal for the Senators tonight as he looks to record his third consecutive win as well. Anderson has been stellar in his last two appearances stopping 73 of the 75 shots he faced against the Kings and Stars which upped his save percentage on the season to an impressive .925% in 5 starts this year.
