Jaromir Jagr, Roberto Luongo power Panthers

OTTAWA -- Jaromir Jagr had a goal and two assists and Roberto Luongo made 39 saves to help the Florida Panthers to a 4-1 win against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Saturday.
Jagr, 44, scored for the first time in 14 games, and Luongo, 37, got his seventh win of the season for the Panthers (9-8-1), who have won two of their first three games on a four-game road trip.

"We won 4-1, but we were lucky," Jagr said. "Luongo] probably stopped probably three, four goals at least. We have to thank [Luongo] for this win."
"We took advantage of our opportunities tonight," said Luongo, who won his fourth game in a row. "That's the moral of the story, I think. I don't think by any means we thought we played a great game as a team, but we took advantage of our opportunities. When we got our chances, we buried them. Sometimes that's all it takes."

Jussi Jokinen, back in the lineup after missing a game because of the flu, Jonathan Marchessault and Derek MacKenzie, scored for the Panthers. MacKenzie replaced Aleksander Barkov, who was injured and did not play in the third period, on the line with Jokinen and Jagr.

Panthers coach Gerard Gallant did not have an update on Barkov's injury or his availability for Sunday, when Florida faces the New York Rangers.
Craig Anderson made 19 saves and Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored for the Senators (10-7-1), who have lost back-to-back games.
Jagr scored 25 seconds into the game when his shot went off the stick of Senators forward Derick Brassard and between Anderson's pads.

Jagr had gone 13 games without a goal for the second time in his career (Philadelphia Flyers, 2012).
Jagr assisted on Jokinen's first goal of the season at 12 minutes of the first period to make it 2-0.
Marchessault scored at 15:05 of the second period to make it 3-0. It was Marchessault's team-leading ninth goal of the season.

Jokinen finished off some nice passing with Barkov and Jagr with a wrist shot from the slot that went into the top corner on Anderson's glove side.

With the Panthers up 2-0 and seven minutes left in the second period, Dzingel had a breakaway from the Panthers' blue line. Luongo stopped his shot with his left arm and Marchessault scored two minutes later.

Unsung moment of the game

Five minutes into the second period and with the Panthers ahead 2-0, Senators forward Mark Stone got a carom off the backboards and had an open net with Luongo out of position. Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad slid over and deflected Stone's shot over the net with his left ankle.
