The Rangers wrap up a quick two-game homestand Tuesday night with a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes at Madison Square Garden.
The Blueshirts are coming off a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Ottawa Senators Sunday night that saw the power play go 0-for-4 and the penalty kill surrender one goal in two opportunities. Antti Raanta made 18 saves in his first loss of season.

Henrik Lundqvist will get the start for the Rangers Tuesday night against the Hurricanes. He's 10-6-1 with a .915 SV% and a 2.43 GAA with a shutout this season. Lundqvist has exceptional numbers against the Hurricanes for his career, going 23-11-1 with a 2.11 GAA and a .926 SV% with 2 SO in 35 games, and is 9-0 against Carolina at The Garden dating back to Jan. 5, 2011.
Winger Mats Zuccarello has a point in 13 of his last 14 games against Carolina, posting four goals and 12 assists in those games dating back to Nov. 2, 2013.
As a team, New York has won their last 11 games against the Hurricanes at Madison Square Garden, which is tied for the longest home winning streak against one opponent in franchise history. In total, the Rangers are 19-3 against Carolina dating back to Feb. 22, 2011.
The Rangers are coming off the first shutout loss of their season, but have been one of the better teams in the NHL in following a defeat with a win. Since Dec. 22, 2015, the Rangers are 23-4-1 in games immediately following a loss, and thus far are 6-0-1 in games after a loss.
Carolina enters the game playing good hockey going 6-2 in their last eight games, with wins over Montreal, San Jose and Washington. Carolina is coming off a 3-2 win over the Panthers Sunday night.
The Hurricanes have had trouble scoring this season, with their 52 goals in 21 games being the fourth-fewest in the Eastern Conference. Jeff Skinner and Victor Rask have led the way offensively with 19 and 17 points, respectively. Defenseman Justin Faulk is off to a slow start with just seven points in 18 games, though he does have four power play points.
No. 1 goalie Cam Ward is 7-6-3 this season with a 2.24 GAA and a .918 SV% with a shutout in 16 games this season. Backup Eddie Lack is currently on injured reserve with a concussion, which opened the door for Michael Leighton, who picked up his first regular season win since 2010 Sunday night against the Panthers.
