Coyotes throwbacks

Why not make a comeback in style?

The Arizona Coyotes announced Friday they will be wearing their throwback Kachina jerseys when the NHL returns for Qualifying Round play.

The team made the big announcement on Twitter with a special video.

The jerseys, which were their primary ones from their first season in 1996-97 until a redesign before the 2003-04 season, have always been a fan favorite.

The Coyotes said they will wear the throwbacks for every game when they are the designated home team.

Arizona, which was 11th in the Western Conference with a .529 points percentage, is scheduled to play the Nashville Predators (sixth, .565) in a best-of-5 Qualifying Round series, based on the NHL Return to Play Plan released May 26.

Games are expected to be played in a hub city that has yet to be announced. A start date has not been determined.
