Doughty Named Top Defenseman in EA Sports NHL19; Kopitar, Quick in Top 50

Three LA Kings players are among Top 50 Players in EA Sports NHL 19 as Drew Doughty, Anze Kopitar and Jonathan Quick all cracked the list that was unveiled ahead of the worldwide launch of the new game on September 14.
Doughty is the top-rated defenseman and checked in at No. 4 overall in NHL 19. The Norris Finalist had the best offensive season of his career in 2017-18, so EA Sports rewarded him with 92-rating ...and a very full beard.

"Regarded as a fierce competitor who can play huge amounts of minutes against top competition, Doughty is a dominant force on the backend for the Kings, and the highest-rated defenseman in NHL 19," EA Sports said
in their unveiling of the rankings
.

"Rarely caught out of position, Doughty can play at all ends of the ice while he controls the action, and as a Norris Trophy winner, two-time Stanley Cup champion, and four-time All-Star, there's no doubting his credentials."
Kopitar, the reigning Selke Trophy-winner and Hart Finalist, checked in at No. 15 on the Top 50 Player Ratings.
"Two-way forwards are known for their ability to play effectively in any zone, a reputation that has followed Kopitar on his way to massive success,"
EA Sports said

"Two Stanley Cups and two Selke Trophies as the leagues top defensive-forward are highlights through his first 12 NHL seasons, and the Kings centerman is coming off a career-year in which he put up 92 points."
Last, but not least, among the Kings representatives is Quick. The veteran is ranked fifth among all goalies and No. 33 overall on the Top 50.
"One of the most decorated goalies on this list, Quick has a jam-packed trophy cabinet with all the skill to back it up,"
EA Sports said
.

"The Kings backstop played a major role in winning the Stanley Cup in the 2011-2012 and 2013-2014 seasons, and there's no doubt he's capable of doing it again. The 89-overall Quick is a Hybrid goalie to keep your eye on."
In terms of the larger list, Connor McDavid was ranked best player in the league, just above Sidney Crosby by one point.

NHL 19 (affectionately referred to as "chel" by players) takes into account a players' offensive and defensive strengths and the overall impact they have on the game.
The new version of the game is better than ever with updated animations, elaborate locations, more customizable players and a legends feature.
It launches worldwide on September 14
