When the offseason comes around and it's time to reset, the Kopitar's only head to one place: Slovenia.
The small, lakeside city of Bled offers a much-needed slower pace for Anze Kopitar and his family to escape from the busyness of Los Angeles.
"Coming here, everything slows down for me," Kopitar said. "Trying to recharge and get focused again, have a fresh mindset, that's the biggest thing for me coming here."
Not to mention, it's beautiful...

Coming from such a small community, Kopitar realizes the importance of giving back and growing the game. He and fellow Slovenian hockey player Tomaž Razingar host an
annual week-long youth camp
with over 130 kids.
"You just want to give back something," Kopitar said. "At the end of the day, when you see a kid smile and be happy on the ice, it gives me and everyone around me energy. In some ways, they bring me back to my childhood."

Though there is plenty of time to reset and recharge, Kopitar prioritizes his on and off-ice training in order to improve his physical fitness and keep his game sharp.
He's focused on setting a good example and creating a strong culture as the foundation of the team for the upcoming season.

"I want to win another Stanley Cup. That's what we all play for. I've been fortunate enough to get nominated for a Hart Trophy, and won a few Selke Trophies, but let me tell you for a fact that nothing compares to the big trophy."
"That's the one and only goal in my mind - to win another Stanley Cup."
