Bethpage Street-C

The morning of Saturday, September 26th marked the first session of a six-week Street Hockey Program, hosted at the Town of Oyster Bay Athletic Facility. Young fans were able to come and learn how to stickhandle and pass like the pros in a fun and safe environment. This first session began with stretches- Coach Tom stressed how important it was that every hockey player needs a good warmup routine. Next, the group did a passing drill. Everyone had a partner as they learned to control the ball and pass it to another player. It was then time for everyone's favorite drill- shooting. Each group lined up across the Gym floor with their partner and passed back and forth until reaching the goal where one player would take a wrist shot. There were plenty of fist bumps at the end of this drill. Practice ended with a speedy group clean-up and a picture to celebrate a successful day one. Each participant shared their excited to come back and learn for the following weeks to come!
