One night after falling 3-2 to the Devils in New Jersey, the Islanders and Devils rematch on Sunday in Brooklyn.
Nick Leddy hit a post with 1:27 remaining, as the Islanders nearly tied the score after mounting a late third period comeback. Andrew Ladd and Anthony Beauvillier scored for the Islanders in the final frame.

"It is what it is, we lost a game, we hit a post at the end and we had a chance to tie it," Interim Coach Doug Weight said. "We had some momentum and we have to carry it into tomorrow and we have to start better."

Alas, the Devils held on for the win - their first regulation win over the Islanders since Mar. 1, 2014 - and gained two points on the Islanders in a crowded playoff chase.
As of Sunday morning, six teams (Boston, Toronto, the Islanders, Buffalo, Philadelphia and New Jersey) are separated by four points, with Boston (64 points) holding the final playoff spot. It's tight.
With a game the night before and a 6 p.m. start, the Islanders are not holding a morning skate on Sunday. Weight will announce his lineup at 3:45 p.m.
