On Feb. 16, the Golden Knights hosted Black History Month Knight, wearing specialty warmup jerseys designed by Jalen Jones, the team's Motion Graphics Designer, with input from forward Keegan Kolesar. Jones also rang the siren during the second intermission of the game. The Golden Knights also welcomed the Doc Pearson Community Center group in a suite to enjoy the game. The Doc Pearson Community Center is a safe space for kids to go after school in addition to providing after school activities.
Hannah Brown and Roxann McCoy were also highlighted during the game. Brown is a prominent Vegas educational activist who served on The Public Education's Board of Directors for six years, the Nevada State Foundation Board for 10 years; Chair of the College of Southern Nevada for 8 years; and on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Diversity Committee. She was named by Ebony Magazine in 1991 as one of "100 Most Promising Black Women in Corporate America."
McCoy is the current CEO and president of Aspire Consulting Group where she uses her extensive background in diversity and inclusion training and business development to help provide business strategies that work to streamline processes and increase revenue. She is also the former president of the Las Vegas chapter of the NAACP where she served as president for over eight years.
Additionally, Kolesar participated in a street hockey clinic at Doolittle Community Center. Golden Knights mascot Chance was also in attendance.
