In addition to the auction, the VGK Foundation recognized cancer patients and survivors at T-Mobile Arena with appearances at the rally siren and on Knight Tron during the game. Optum Cancer Care Center and Cure 4 the Kids Foundation representatives were some of the attendees that were honored.
Prior to the anthems, Cure 4 the Kids was recognized with a special moment alongside the Golden Knights' bench. They joined Vegas out on the ice to recognize those who fought, are fighting or who have a loved one battling cancer. Cure 4 the Kids is a local organization that works towards curing and preventing childhood diseases through clinical excellence, research, and innovation and provide a treatment center committed to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. The primary approach is "to create a new kind of healthcare facility; one that blended the best of what corporate healthcare, education and research has to offer with the generosity, thoughtfulness, and spirit of charity."
Lastly, fans filled out their own "I Fight For" signs to honor their friends, family, and loved ones who have battled cancer. During the game, fans were asked to hold up their signs and were featured on Knight Tron for doing so. Fans also had the opportunity to take a photo in front of the team's Hockey Fights Cancer Knight backdrop with their signs.
