The Vegas Golden Knights (22-10-1) were defeated by the New York Islanders (18-13-1) during their return to Vegas on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
With just one minute remaining in the first period, Anders Lee opened the scoring for the Islanders. Reilly Smith then tied things up at 1-1 with a power-play goal one minute into the middle frame. Hudson Fasching responded a few minutes later, putting the Islanders ahead 2-1. Just before the end of the period, Simon Holmstrom extended the Islanders' lead to 3-1. In the third period, Smith notched his second power-play goal of the game to bring the Golden Knights within one. Brock Nelson and Zach Parise scored empty-net goals to give the Islanders the 5-2 win.
