HOW IT WENT DOWN
Jonathan Marchessault opened the scoring for Vegas just one minute into the first period. 37 seconds later, Evan Bouchard tied the game 1-1. Halfway through the first, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins put the Oilers ahead, 2-1. William Karlsson then tied the game 2-2 with a shorthanded goal. Less than a minute later, Leon Draisaitl put Edmonton back ahead, 3-2. Early in the second period, Michael Amadio tied the game, 3-3 for Vegas before the Oilers potted three straight to enter the second intermission. In the final frame, Brett Kulak added one more to Edmonton's total before Marchessault scored his second of the night to bring the final score to 7-4.
