The Ducks (4-5-0) continue their East Coast road trip as they head to New Jersey to take on the Devils (5-4-0).
Puck drop is set for 4 p.m. PT and will be broadcast Prime Video and FOXLA+.
Anaheim remains in search of its first win in four games after falling to the Islanders, 3-2, on Tuesday.
While the team had a lead after the first period in their first seven games, they’ve started much slower in the contests against the Rangers and Islanders. In fact, they’ve played from behind in both games that started this road trip.
“We’ve got to get something out of this trip,” head coach Joel Quenneville said. “We’ve got to stop this little trend we’re on right now.”
“I think you take positives out of the game but at the end of the day, you’ve got to win a hockey game,” Frank Vatrano said. “It was a great effort by the guys but we’ve got to find a way to get two points. Obviously, it’s tough when you start from behind. This is a league where you’ve got to play with a lead and learn how to play with it. I think that’s where we need to start, getting off to better starts.”
As for tonight, Quenneville said it’s going to take a full team effort to leave the Prudential Center with a win.
“I just think that everybody can give more,” Q said. “When you get in one of these situations where it gets your attention, this is a get-your-attention game.”
The Devils come into tonight fresh off a 4-3 win over the Avs on Tuesday.
Jack Hughes tops the team in assists (7) and points (9) while Nico Hischier and Arseny Gritsyuk lead the club in goals with four each.
“They're a fast, skilled team and they play hard, too,” Jackson LaCombe said of the Devils. “They’re really good offensively and we've got to be ready for that hustle from them. We've got some good players up front too, so we've just got to be careful with them.
“We've got to be sharper, obviously, in the last few games and better on our own end, and I think that will help us.”
