Heading into his third NHL season, Nico Hischier is eager to continue his growth as a leader.
When he entered the league, players around the locker room helped him transition to life in the NHL and now he wants to do the same with the young guys coming in.
"I want to do exactly the same thing that the other guys did for me," said Hischier. "I thought I felt really welcomed in that team."
Hischier can be a perfect role model for a guy like 2019 first-overall pick Jack Hughes. The two just met today, but Hischier is ready to help.
"I'll try it my best to help him out wherever he needs from me."
