This morning Devils head coach Lindy Ruff shared some insight into the expected timelines for recovery for both Mackenzie Blackwood and Ondrej Palat.
Palat underwent surgery last week just a groin injury, the club waited until after Palat had his post-surgery doctors visit before clarifying a timeline. Ruff said it is expected to be between eight to ten weeks. The head coach brought some levity to the timeline, saying that he had just seen Palat working out in the gym earlier that morning and said Palat "may argue with (the timeline) and look at me like I'm crazy."
Ruff joked he'd be happy for Palat to prove the timeline wrong.
Palat played six games before his injury and has three goals.
As for goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood, he saw doctors in New Jersey after suffering his knee injury (sprained MCL) in Edmonton last week. Blackwood's timeline, Ruff suggests, sits between three and six weeks of recovery.
Blackwood has appeared in seven games this season, with a 4-2-0 record.
