Draft table

MONTREAL - June is almost here, which means the 2023 NHL Draft is fast approaching. This year, the Canadiens hold 11 picks at the event, which is slated to take place on June 28 and 29 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Here's a look at the current Draft order for Montreal:
The Canadiens' first pick in the first round was determined by the NHL Draft Lottery, which took place on May 8.
Four of the Habs' 2023 picks were acquired via trade.
The first-round pick originally held by the Panthers was sent to Montreal in the transaction that sent Ben Chiarot to Florida before last season's trade deadline.
The fourth-round pick that originally belonged to the Penguins was traded to Montreal in the deal that saw Jeff Petry and Ryan Poehling head to Pittsburgh in the offseason.
The Canadiens' third pick in the fourth round came into Montreal's hands when the Habs agreed to swap their 2022 fourth-round pick to Vegas at the Draft. The Golden Knights used the pick to select Cameron Whitehead at 128th overall.
Lastly, the 144th-overall selection, in the fifth round, was acquired by Montreal as part of the Tyler Toffoli trade to the Calgary Flames in February 2022.
