Berube signs 3-year contract extension

Craig Berube isn't going anywhere.
The St. Louis Blues locked up their head coach Wednesday with a three-year contract extension that will keep him behind the bench through the 2024-25 season.

"I've enjoyed working with (General Manager) Doug Armstrong and (Chairman) Tom Stillman, working with the coaching staff and training staff and all the players we have here," Berube told stlouisblues.com. "Why would I want to go anywhere else? I love it here."
Berube's contract was set to expire at the end of the season. Now in his fourth year with the club, Berube is 133-71-30 in the regular season and helped guide the team to its first Stanley Cup championship in 2019.

Berube was originally named Interim Head Coach on Nov. 19, 2018, replacing Mike Yeo behind the bench. On Jan. 1 of that season, the team was in last place in the standings but went 30-10-15 to become just the seventh team since 1967-68 to earn a postseason berth after being in last place at any point after New Year's Day.
The team continued its success in the playoffs, capping off the season with a win in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final to secure a championship.
Berube finished that season as a finalist for the Jack Adams Award as the League's top coach.
"I came in here four years ago and we've had great success here," Berube said. "We have a chance to win again. I think that Doug does everything he can to put a winning team on the ice, and as a coach, I think that's a great thing.
"I really enjoy St. Louis. I enjoy the fan base, and it's a great organization."
Currently, Berube ranks seventh in Blues history in games coached (234), fourth in wins (133). His points percentage (.632) ranks second.
