Friday, Oct. 6 - NEW YORK ISLANDERS
There's nothing like the first game of the season. Oct. 6, the Jackets welcome the New York Islanders to Nationwide to start the year off with a bang, and maybe a cannon blast or two. It will be the first time we see this year's roster take to the ice after what looks to be an exciting and competitive training camp. The game also marks the first of four games this year between the Jackets and their Metro Division opponents. Last year, the Jackets had the edge over the Islanders with a series record of 3-1, and Columbus holds the all-time advantage with a record of 17-8-5-1.

Friday, Nov. 17 - NEW YORK RANGERS
Games against the Rangers are rarely boring. After all, the first time New York came to Columbus last season, Matt Calvert took a puck to the head before returning to the ice to score the game-winning goal. So, who knows what might happen when the Rangers make their first appearance of the year at Nationwide on Nov. 17? What else is happening that night? It's First Responders Night, so you don't just get a night of hockey, you'll be part of showing appreciation for those who work to protect us and keep Columbus safe.

Sunday, Dec. 31 - TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
Looking for something special to ring in 2018? The Blue Jackets have the answer. This New Year's Eve, the Jackets welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to town for a 6 p.m. puck drop on a night that promises to be full of special New Year's Eve celebrations. This will be the third and final time the two teams meet in the 2017-18 season, and you can be sure that the Lightning will be working to avoid a 3-0 Jackets' series sweep like the one that occurred last year.

Sunday, Feb. 18 - PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
The relationship between the Blue Jackets and the Pittsburgh Penguins is well known. The two teams have developed quite a rivalry through the years based on geographic proximity, competition in the Metro Division and the last two Jackets' playoff series. This year, the Jackets play the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions four times, but they don't face off at Nationwide Arena until Feb. 18 for the third of those matchups. February is the stretch run in the NHL, and within the highly competitive Metro Division, this game promises to have more meaning than just two earned points.
