Kirk Herbstreit has become one of the most recognizable faces in sports media as a college football analyst, most notably on ESPN's "College GameDay," and the former Ohio State quarterback famously plays it down the middle when it comes to the sport he talks about on TV and radio.
But when it comes to hockey, Herbstreit leaves no doubt.
He's a fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Originally a native of Centerville, Ohio, Herbstreit made his home in Columbus after finishing his career in 1992, getting into radio in the market before ending up on the wildly popular ESPN pregame show.
While Herbstreit has since moved to Nashville, his Ohio roots have kept him a fan of the Jackets, and Herbstreit appeared today on SiriusXM NHL radio Thursday morning to talk about his love of the sport and the team.
When it comes to the Jackets' four trade deadline acquisitions, Herbstreit said he's excited for what's to come.
"I'm appreciative," he said. "Columbus is all in, and as a fan I'm excited."
