Berube, 30, who was signed by Columbus as a free agent to a one-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract on Sept. 30, 2021, is 3-1-0 with a 3.25 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in four games with the Blue Jackets this season. He made his team debut on February 20 vs. Buffalo and became the second goaltender in franchise history to start his tenure with three-straight wins (Steve Mason). He has registered a 12-11-4 record with a 3.37 GAA and .902 SV% in 38 career NHL contests with the Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders since making his NHL debut in 2015-16.
The Repentigny, Quebec native has also posted a 4-10-5 record with a 3.65 GAA, .879 SV% and one shutout in 19 appearances with Cleveland this season. He owns a 123-91-20 record with a 2.66 GAA, .904 SV% and 12 shutouts in 242 career AHL games since making his professional debut in 2009-10. The 6-1, 175-pound netminder was originally selected by Los Angeles in the fourth round, 95th overall, at the 2009 NHL Draft.
