Goaltenders Griffin Niedzielski and Matthew Toomey split the exhibition once again as the Jr. Avalanche defeated the Chevaliers 7-2. Three Jr. Avs forwards recorded multi-point games: Grady Glandorf (two goals, two assists), Mathias Silaban (two goals, one assist) and Dimarco Benallo (one goal, one assist). Glandorf scored his first goal of the game on a breakaway while the team was shorthanded on a 5-on-3.
The team headed to Village Vacances Valcartier for a full afternoon of fun activities in the snow. The Jr. Avs started their day at the renown Hôtel de Glace, the first and only true ice hotel in North America. The Ice Hotel includes a wedding chapel, full bar, slide and several different rooms all made out of unique sculpted ice.

Following the tour of the ice hotel, the team hit the sledding hills in Valcartier Village. Players teamed up in groups speeding down the different hills rated from green circle to double black diamond just like the ski slopes that Coloradans know so well.
To end the day, the Jr. Avs invited their billet families to join them for a fun fondue dinner where players enjoyed cooking their own meals at the table.

On Thursday, the Jr. Avalanche will play in the next single-elimination round of the tournament versus the Halifax Mooseheads. The team name may ring a bell to some Avs fans as it is the hometown club of Nathan MacKinnon.

Dear Avs Fans,
The ice rink that we played at today was awesome. There were a lot of different colored seats and a big scoreboard, which made playing there a fun scene. Today we played a good, hard-fought game. We came out a little sloppy and we could work on that. Once we scored that first goal, we knew it was time to take over and I think that's what we did. We started to play our game which led to us finding the back of the net and gave us a seven-goal game. For lunch, we went to the Chinese buffet that is owned by one of our billets. What I really loved is that we got to eat for free. This was really nice of them and it was cool to see how nice people are in Quebec.
For our activity today, we got to visit this amazing ice hotel where people can actually stay. I thought that the different rooms looked like the people who designed it put a lot of work into it. It is just amazing that you can stay at an ice hotel and it shows you a lot about Quebec by showing the way they are able to benefit from the cold weather. Each and every room had a different meaning with the art sculpted or painted with in the room. After we visited the ice hotel, we go to go to the tubing park. There were so many different hills to chose from and they made it so easy to get back up the hill by using a machine that would carry us up in the tube. My favorite part was when we would go down as a big group in one big raft enjoying how fast we went together. I don't think I've ever had a fondue dinner before. I enjoyed being able to cook the meat on my own. Tomorrow is a big game and I can't wait to get back to the Videotron center.
Sincerely,#6
