Defeated in Boston

The Avalanche lost 3-1 to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Saturday. Artturi Lehkonen scored for Colorado while Scott Wedgewood stopped 12 of the 14 shots he faced.

The Avalanche posted 27 shots on goal, including a pair from Martin Necas in his Colorado debut.

How It Happened

Lehkonen opened the scoring with his 19th tally of the season via a right-circle wrist shot off a nifty backhand feed from Juuso Parssinen at 1:30 of the second period. Casey Mittelstadt picked up the secondary assist on the goal with a pass to Parssinen at the Avs' blueline.

Boston's Morgan Geekie tied the game with a shot from the high slot at 25 seconds of the third period.

The Bruins took a 2-1 lead at 5:44 of the third when Geekie scored his second of the night with a shot from the doorstep.

David Pastrnak gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead with an empty-net goal at 19:56 of the third.
