NEW YORK--Defenseman Tyson Barrie will return to the Colorado Avalanche's lineup for tonight's matchup at the New York Islanders after missing the past four games due to a lower-body injury.
The Victoria, British Columbia, native has missed eight of the past 10 contests because of the injury. He was able to play Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at Anaheim and Los Angeles before his most recent stint of missed outings.

Head coach Jared Bednar had listed Barrie has probable following Saturday's loss at the New York Rangers; he took warmup before puck in that contest.
Barrie leads all Avalanche defensemen in scoring with 23 points (three goals and 20 assists) and is first on the club in average ice time (23:42). He played a career-high 29:12 in the Avs' first meeting with the Islanders on Jan. 6 at Pepsi Center.
The 25-year-old will be paired on the blue line with Fedor Tyutin. Patrick Wiercioch is expected to be scratched, along with Rene Bourque, who continues to be out with a head injury.
Goaltender Calvin Pickard will make his fifth consecutive start in net for Colorado.
