NHL 20 Calgary Flames Nathan MacKinnon

The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2 on Wednesday night at virtual Pepsi Center in a game simulation of EA Sports' NHL 20.
After a scoreless first period, Nathan MacKinnon opened the scoring with an unassisted tally 1:28 into the middle frame and then added an assist later in the stanza on Gabriel Landeskog's marker that gave Colorado a 3-1 lead at 9:35. Landeskog's goal came 34 seconds after Johnny Gaudreau tallied to get the Flames on the scoreboard.

The Avs led 4-1 going into the second intermission with Nikita Zadorov (6:37) and Joonas Donskoi (12:28) also recording goals in the frame.
Matthew Tkachuk got Calgary within two scores early in the final stanza, but the Avalanche's lead ended up being too large for the Flames to overcome and Vladislav Namestnikov added onto it with a goal of his own with 5:45 left in regulation.
Matt Calvert had two assists for Colorado while Andre Burakovsky, Ian Cole, Ryan Graves and Erik Johnson also had helpers in the matchup. Avs goaltender Philipp Grubauer stopped 25 shots as the club outshot the Flames 32-27.
