The Colorado Avalanche sweep the back-to-back, home-and-home set against the Arizona Coyotes with a 5-0 victory.
The game started a little quiet, but the Avalanche got on the board first with a backhanded power play goal from Nathan MacKinnon.

The Avalanche continued the scoring into the second period with a goal from Mikko Rantanen and less than two minutes later one from Nazem Kadri.
The second framed finished with another goal from Rantanen, this one unassisted. The Avalanche scored all goals for the second period within five minutes of each other.
To finish the game in the third period, Nathan MacKinnon grabbed a turnover and scored for his second of the game.
THE GOALS
1st Period
13:13 COL (1-0) - PPG After a few shot attempts, Nathan MacKinnon brought the puck right to the front of the net and gave a backhanded tip to sneak the puck in.
2nd Period
10:49 COL (2-0) - Nathan MacKinnon took a hard shot from the slot, Karel Vejmelka attempted to make the stop, but the puck slid past and Mikko Rantanen was there to tap the puck into the net.
12:11 COL (3-0) - Following a turnover, Andre Burakovsky gave a quick pass from the top of the slot to Nazem Kadri in front of the net. Kadri had just enough room to pop the puck over Karel Vejmelka and into the net.
14:30 COL (4-0) - Mikko Rantanen forced a turnover, brought the puck through the neutral zone, and made a quick shot on net from the left circle that landed the puck home.
3rd Period
19:39 COL (5-0) - Immediately following a turnover, Nathan MacKinnon grabbed the puck and gave a quick shot to get the puck in net.

Ryan Murray left the game on Jan. 14 with an upper-body injury. Darren Helm is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Jacob MacDonald remains out with an upper-body injury he sustained on Dec. 12. Stefan Matteau is expected to be out for a few more weeks while he rehabs a lower-body injury from October 2021.
