Sharks Foundation Fitness Faceoff

Join the Sharks Foundation for a day of exercise, activities geared toward a healthy lifestyle and fundraising at the annual Fitness Faceoff powered by Kaiser Permanente on Saturday, September 30!

Start the 2017-18 season off by making a commitment to an active lifestyle and participating in the 5K or 10K walk/run. The event also hosts the Rosendin Electric Kids Fun Run and accommodates all ages and skill levels. All courses start and finish at the home of your San Jose Sharks, SAP Center. Everyone that participates will receive a Sharks-themed race shirt and custom finisher's medal!

A Health Festival will take place in the Arena Green and showcase a variety of vendors and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Regardless of your experience or athletic ability, Fitness Faceoff will be a great day to highlight the importance of health and wellness and raise funds for the Sharks Foundation. Net proceeds from Fitness Faceoff powered by Kaiser Permanente benefit the Sharks Foundation and its mission to assist underserved youth and families in the Bay Area.

ROSENDIN ELECTRIC KIDS FUN RUN:

The Rosendin Electric Kids Fun Run course route is for YOUTH PARTICIPANTS ONLY (ages 0-12) and will start in the Arena Green - indicated by balloon towers on race day - and end at the 5K/10K finish line on N. Autumn Street; see map for course route. Total distance: .25 miles (roughly 1,320 feet).

All Rosendin Electric Kids Fun Run participants receive the same Sharks-themed race shirt (youth sizing available) and custom finisher's medal as our 5K/10K participants.

Suggested age range for unassisted participants is 5-12. Children under the age of five are welcomed to participate and may be accompanied by an adult escort, however due to its size and distance this route cannot accommodate strollers. This run is inclusive to teens over the age of 12 with special needs as well as wheelchair accessible - adult escorts are encouraged if needed.

Only registered youth participants wearing a Kids Fun Run race bib will be able to collect a medal when crossing the finish line. PARENTS, DO NOT REGISTER FOR THE KIDS FUN RUN - if needed, you may join your child at no cost. Parental escorts will not receive event merchandise unless they register for an adult course (5K/10K).

There will be areas along the course route where chaperones may stand to watch and cheer on the Rosendin Electric Kids Fun Run participants.

VIRTUAL RACE:

Can't make it to the event? Register for the Virtual Race (United States mailing addresses ONLY)! Participants who register for the Virtual Race will receive a shirt, bib and medal post-event and can pledge to run/walk the distance on their own from whatever location is most convenient for you. You do not need to provide any type of verification that you completed a distance. Cost for the Virtual Race is $50 which includes shipping costs.

*IMPORTANT* Registered Virtual Racers will have their race packets shipped to the address that was provided during registration after the event (no later than the week of Oct. 16). Please do not attend either of the pre-event packet pick-up dates as we will not be able to release your merchandise to you.

STROLLERS:

With anyone interested in participating with a stroller we highly encourage you to review the course/course map in advance and then, based on your personal experience and athletic ability, determine the best call for yourself. Both courses can accommodate strollers, but again, the choice is completely up to you as a participant.

We kindly ask participants with strollers to line up at the back of the start line and be courteous of other race participants while out on the course route. Only registered participants wearing a 2017 race bib will be able to collect a medal when crossing the finish line - a stroller, or a child in a stroller, does not count as a participant.

PETS:

As a common courtesy to other guests with potential allergies or fear of animals we do not advertise this event as "pet friendly" and we kindly ask that you leave your furry friends at home. Service dogs are OK but must be wearing appropriate identification.
