After his goal Monday night, the German rookie has scored half of his NHL goals in that building.
"I like the rink here but I just try to play my best hockey every night," he said.
The 19-year-old also scored in Edmonton Jan. 31 and Feb. 2, in back-to-back games, as well as Monday night to have tallied three of his six NHL goals in Alberta's capital.
In fact, of Stützle's six NHL goals, five have come on the road.
But there's something about the home of the Edmonton Oilers and perhaps, as Thomas Chabot suggested, it links back to the 2021 World Juniors.
"Didn't he play World juniors here? I guess he really enjoys this building!" Chabot said.
Stützle was named the tournament's best forward, was selected to the World Juniors all-star team and was named as one of Germany's top three performers at the tournament after scoring five goals and 10 points in just five games as he helped guide Germany to its first ever quarterfinal berth. The entire tournament was held at Rogers Place.
"I can't really tell you," Stützle said of why he's successful in Edmonton. "I try to play my best game. It doesn't really depend what building I play in [but] it's great it works so well [here]."
With Ottawa's 3-2 defeat last night, it marked the midway point of the team's 56-game schedule.
Stützle missed three games in January but in 25 contests this season he has 15 points and of course was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month in February.
"This guy is so talented and so fast," Chabot said of Stützle. "He loves playing the game and loves to learn. We talk a lot on and off the ice about different plays and the way he thinks the game is different than anybody else. It's no surprise to anyone he's having success right away coming into the league.
"He's so good and it's just going to keep on getting better as he gets older and keeps on getting bigger and stronger. He's going to be a really big piece for our team in the next few years."
And if Stützle keeps doing what he's doing, he's going to be scoring in more rinks than just Edmonton.
"If it goes well and the puck goes in then I think that's always a great feeling but in the end I try to play my game every night against every team and just play for the team to win hockey games."
