Lined Up: Game #1 vs. Capitals

Who's in? Who's out? We've got all the Sens line-up news before tonight's season opener against the Washington Capitals.

During his media availability yesterday, Sens head coach Guy Boucher shared a few pieces of pivotal line-up info as the team prepped for their first game of the season tonight.
For starters, Derick Brassard will be in the line-up tonight after being given the green light from his doctors after off-season shoulder surgery.
"I'm really excited to start the season," said Brassard after this morning's skate. "It's always special to play in the first game of the season and we're up against one of the best teams in the regular season for the past couple of years so it's going to be a big challenge for us."
The coach also confirmed that Logan Brown will make his NHL debut tonight. Brown's father, Jeff Brown, played in parts of 14 NHL seasons and will be in attendance tonight to see his son start his professional career with the Senators.
"It's a dream come true for me," Brown told reporters yesterday. "I'm sure my dad will be pretty happy up in the stands watching me play."
Erik Karlsson didn't skate this morning and has been ruled out for tonight's contest but Sens general manager Pierre Dorion shared with the media today that he's "hopeful" to have his captain back for Saturday's game against the Red Wings. Karlsson has been recovering from off-season ankle surgery and resumed skating with his teammates about two weeks ago.

In Goal

Craig Anderson gets the start in goal and after a rollercoaster season last year, he appears happy to reset before tonight's contest.
"Everyone starts at zero again. In sports, you have to prepare for the next one, then the next one and then the one after that so it's just a matter of staying focused," Anderson said about the new season. "We're obviously going to be excited and we're going to have great energy in our building. We have to make sure that use that energy and put it to good use for us tonight."
