What is Game On?

An NHL/NHLPA Scholastic Gaming Initiative, designed to inspire the next generation of hockey fans through competitive esports and skill-building activities. The Detroit Red Wings are helping support Michigan schools with access to competitive gaming, and connecting students to the game of hockey.

In Spring 2025, the Red Wings supported 12 local schools and over 230 students as they competed for their school in various game titles - including three state champion schools!

Esports Stats

Esports & gaming prove to be beneficial for students as 91% of them feel as if they are a part of a community, with 83% saying it was their first extracurricular activity.
