Over in the Western Hockey League, Rangers prospect Ryan Gropp chipped in with an assist in Seattle's 3-2 loss to Brandon Friday night. The 2015 second-round pick has two goals and five assists in seven games this season and is in the midst of a five-game point streak with the Thunderbirds.
Defenseman Sergey Zborovskiy notched an assist in Regina's 9-6 win over Saskatoon last night. The 2015 third-round selection has a goal and 10 assists for 11 points in 12 games, as well as a plus-22 rating, which is second-highest in the WHL. Zborovskiy has assists in six straight games, and 10 of his 12 games overall.
Down in the NCAA, Adam Huska mad 23 saves for UConn in its 2-2 tie with Massachusetts Friday night. The 2015 seventh-round pick is now 1-1-2 with the Huskies to go along with a 2.40 GAA and a .935 SV% in his freshman year.
Fellow goaltending prospect Tyler Wall made 24 saves as UMass-Lowell topped Vermont, 3-1. Wall is now 5-1-1 this season with a 1.79 GAA and a .932 SV%.
