Broadcaster Bios

Getzoff is in his seventh season as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins Radio Network's broadcast team, and first as the official full-time play-by-play announcer on the club's flagship station, 105.9 FM "The X".

He had previously handled pre- and post-game show hosting duties in each of his first three seasons, and also filled in as the team's play-by-play voice as needed during regular-season and playoff action. In addition, Getzoff hosts the radio network's "GMJR Show" and "Highmark Coaches Show" during in-season programming.

Getzoff came to the Penguins following a successful stint at WICD/WCCU-TV, the ABC/FOX affiliate in Champaign, Illinois, where he served as the station's Sports Director. During his time in Illinois, he was named the TV Sportscaster of the Year in 2015 and was also honored for his work by the Illinois Associated Press. Prior to his time in Illinois, Getzoff worked at WENY-TV, the ABC/CBS affiliate in Elmira, New York, where he captured multiple New York State Associated Press awards for his efforts as a Sports Anchor/Reporter.

A 2011 graduate of Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications and a Pennsylvania native, Getzoff currently resides in Lawrenceville with his wife, Madeleine, son, Gunnar, and their dog, Maxie.
