On September 28 at the Penguins' Free Game for Kids, the team invited youth hockey players from around the region to deliver ice shavings from their local rink to PPG Paints Arena.
Four players from the region were also invited to initiate the connection between the local rinks and PPG Paints Arena by pouring out shavings from their home rinks during the first intermission at the Free Game for Kids. Those players included:
Rylee Allison - Penguins Elite
Madeline Barber - RMU Island Colonials
Brandon Wingard - Pittsburgh Blind Hockey
Daniel Yezovich - Steel City Icebergs
After the collection was finalized, the Penguins were able to bond PPG Paints Arena with 23 different youth rinks from the Pittsburgh area.
Stay tuned for final details and an opportunity to win Penguins tickets, autographed merchandise, and Penguins/Evoqua swag on December 28!
