VGK@ANA: Theodore springs Stone's breakaway PPG

ANAHEIM -- Mark Stone had a goal and an assist for his fourth straight multipoint game, and the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-2 at Honda Center on Sunday.

Max Pacioretty and Nicolas Roy each had a goal and an assist, Alec Martinez had two assists, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 33 saves for the Golden Knights (31-11-2), who matched their season high with their sixth straight win.
"We didn't play from behind," Stone said. "I think that's the key to these last few games."

Max Comtois and Danton Heinen scored, and John Gibson made 24 saves for the Ducks (14-25-7), who are 0-5-1 in their past six home games, including a 4-0 loss to the Golden Knights on Friday.
"We were better energy-wise," Anaheim coach Dallas Eakins said. "That's just an excellent team over there with all the depth that they have and the experience."
Vegas is tied with the Colorado Avalanche for first place in the eight-team Honda West Division. Anaheim is in eighth place, 10 points behind the fourth-place Arizona Coyotes. The top four teams will qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Golden Knights alternated their starting goalie for the 13th straight game after Robin Lehner made 16 saves Friday. Fleury faced a much heavier workload.
"We can put a fresh goalie in there every night," Vegas coach Peter DeBoer said. "We're getting great goaltending from both guys."
Pacioretty deflected a slap shot by Martinez for a 1-0 lead at 3:25 of the first period.
Comtois tied it 1-1 at 6:23 when he converted off a 4-on-1 rush for his Ducks-leading 13th goal.
After Pacioretty's goal, the Golden Knights didn't have another shot on goal until defenseman Alex Pietrangelo scored on a wrist shot from the top of the left face-off circle off a pass from Pacioretty for a 2-1 lead at 14:46.
Roy scored for the second straight game when he made it 3-1 at 2:43 of the second period with a one-timer from the left circle off a short pass from William Carrier.
"We have a really good bottom six as well, so we can contribute offensively," Roy said. "It's been good to get those goals and help those guys up in the top six."

Heinen scored on a one-timer from the right circle off a pass from Adam Henrique on the rush to cut the lead to 3-2 at 14:06.
The Golden Knights went back ahead by two goals before the end of the period after the Ducks were called for too many men on the ice.
Stone scored 18 seconds into the power play on a breakaway that was initiated by Fleury to make it 4-2 at 18:13.
"The unfortunate thing is, we talk about it a lot, every moment in the game is critical," Eakins said. "We had a guy jump too early on a line change and we missed an assignment on our penalty kill. It's too bad because our penalty kill has been on quite a run lately (23-for-26, 88.5 percent in the past seven games), and those two moments were critical.
"We had just scored to come back in the game to make it a one-goal game and, boom, two mental mistakes, and now you've got to play two-goal catch-up against an elite team."
Alex Tuch scored into an empty net at 18:33 of the third period for the 5-2 final.
"Everybody is contributing on a different night," Stone said. "We're getting balance throughout the 12 forwards. For five, six games, [the top six forwards] were struggling and [the bottom six] were the ones that kept us going."
The Ducks went 0-for-4 on the power play and are 3-for-63 at home this season (4.8 percent).
"Our power play certainly isn't where it needs to be," Henrique said. "You need to get goals and produce there and create momentum."
