The Buffalo Sabres didn’t hold back when celebrating their captain’s milestone.

The Sabres celebrated Kyle Okposo’s 1,000th NHL game on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins, bringing out everything from T-shirts to jersey patches to honor the forward.

The team started the special day by sporting custom T-shirts during arrivals.

During warmups, the team used commemorative pucks with an Okposo 1,000th game logo.

The players also had that logo on their jerseys for the night.

Okposo’s son, Odin, read out the starting lineup to the team before the game. He even saved the best for last, ending with his dad’s name in the starting lineup to a loud cheer from the team.

The team even had cute greeters on the way onto the ice: Okposo’s kids.

Waiting for Okposo on the ice was Odin’s youth hockey team. All sporting Okposo sweatshirts with printouts of Okposo’s face in hand, the members of the team were rinkside to cheer on their teammate’s dad.

Then, just before puck drop, Okposo's family and teammates joined him on the ice for a pregame ceremony commemorating the landmark game.
