About the Stars
The Stars (8-7-5) won 3-2 in overtime over Minnesota at American Airlines Center Monday. Jamie Benn's goal at 1:23 of the extra period snapped the Stars' nine-game losing streak in 3-on-3 overtime dating back to last season.
"It felt good," said Benn. "I'm not going to lie. It was nice to finally win one in overtime."
Defenseman Jamie Oleksiak, playing in just his sixth game of the season, scored a goal and defenseman Julius Honka registered one assist in his NHL debut for the Stars, who have points in six of their past seven games (4-1-2).
Stars coach Lindy Ruff said he wasn't sure if defenseman John Klingberg would play Wednesday. Klingberg was a scratch Monday after missing a team meeting.
"I haven't made that decision yet," Ruff said. "In the past, when we've won a game I don't change the lineup. It's something that I am going to mull over."
Wednesday's game kicks off a stretch that will see the Stars play five of their next six games on the road.
Injuries: D Johnny Oduya (lower body), RW Jiri Hudler (illness), C/LW Mattias Janmark (knee) and RW Ales Hemsky (hip) are on injured reserve.
