Ingram to start for Predators in Game 3 against Avalanche

NASHVILLE --Connor Ingram will make his second straight start for the Nashville Predators when they host the Colorado Avalanche in Game 3 of the Western Conference First Round on Saturday.

Ingram made 49 saves on 51 shots in his first Stanley Cup Playoffs start in Game 2 on Thursday, a 2-1 overtime loss. That came two days after the goalie made 30 saves on 32 shots in relief of David Rittich in a 7-2 loss in Game 1 on Tuesday.
"He was so good," Nashville defenseman Roman Josi said Friday. "He gave us a chance in that game. He's been doing it all year for us. He did it the first (playoff) game he played. He was amazing. It's not easy. There's a lot of emotions. But he was so calm in net, made so many good saves."

Colorado leads the best-of-7 series heading into Game 3 at Bridgestone Arena (4:30 p.m. ET; TNT, SN, TVAS, BSSO, ALT).
Ingram played three games during the regular season for the Predators, going 1-2-0 with a 3.71 goals-against average and .879 save percentage. He spent most of his time with Milwaukee of the American Hockey League (30-17-7, 2.70 GAA, .915 save percentage, five shutouts).
"Connor played great," Predators coach John Hynes said after Game 2. "He had a great goaltending performance tonight. He made lots of saves at key times, and it was nice to see him be able to play to his ability. I think against a high-powered offensive team, you're going to need excellent goaltending to win games, and he certainly provided that tonight."

Juuse Saros, Nashville's No. 1 goalie, remains out with a lower-body injury. He has not played since sustaining the injury in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames on April 26.
Hynes said he was uncertain whether defenseman Mark Borowiecki, who left Thursday's game with an upper-body injury, would be available for Game 3, and that there could be other lineup changes.
