KEY FACTS:
• Arizona has earned at least one point in four consecutive games and is 9-2-2 in its past 13 games.
• Darcy Kuemper is expected to start in goal ahead of Antti Raanta, who is nursing a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day. Kuemper is 1-1-1 and stopped 72 of 80 shots in his first three games since the Coyotes acquired him via trade with Los Angeles last month. Raanta practiced on Friday and likely will start Sunday's game vs. Vancouver at Gila River Arena.
Clayton Keller leads Arizona and ranks fourth among NHL rookies with 48 points. With 16 games to play, Keller needs seven points to set a new Coyotes record for points in a season by a rookie. Peter Mueller produced 54 in 2007-08.
• Oliver Ekman-Larsson has notched a point (one goal, three assists) in four consecutive games, and is averaging a point per game over the past nine games. He will enter the game with 97 career goals, including four vs. Colorado.

• Derek Stepan is riding a three-game point streak and ranked second on the team with 42 points, six behind Keller. Stepan scored two of his 12 goals this season at the Pepsi Center during Arizona's 3-1 win on Dec. 27.
• Alex Goligoski remains away from the team because his wife is expecting their second child at any moment. He will rejoin the team soon after the baby is born.
• Colorado has earned a point in six consecutive games (3-0-3) and is 13-1-1 at home since losing to Arizona at the Pepsi Center on Dec. 27. The Avalanche have tallied a power-play goal in six straight games, their longest such streak since 2009. Nathan MacKinnon owns a seven-game point streak (seven goals, seven assists), and is ranked fifth in the NHL with 79 points. Tyson Barrie is riding a five-game point streak and ranks 14th among NHL defensemen with 44 points. Jonathan Bernier will make his first start in goal since Feb. 16. He's been sidelined since then with an upper-body injury.

COYOTE BITES
• "They're very high powered offensively and they've got a great power play. We've got to stay out of the box. I think it's going to be a good game. We've just got to make sure we keep rolling ... With wins comes confidence and I think we're expecting to win every game now." -- Jason Demers
• "From the start of the year to where we are right now it's night and day. I think we've really grown as a group, not only as a team, but as individuals. Guys are playing a lot better and playing a lot more consistent. There's a real nice confidence in our group right now." -- Nick Cousins
• "I love the record and I love the way the guys are playing. We're winning some hockey games, but it can't be a roller-coaster ride. We can't get too high on ourselves. You know, we're still in last place ... I think we have to continue to be very humble in the way we play in the sense that it's been a long year and we're starting to get some traction, so keep doing the hard work. Don't ease in because it's coming close to the end of the season. We can't coast. This team cannot coast." -- Rick Tocchet
