Jonathan Marchessault scored at 2:24 of overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 4-3 win against the Ottawa Senators at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday.

Anderson said, "[Marchessault is] a good shooter there, probably one of their best skilled guys. Made the perfect shot, just inside the post, over the pad."
Ryan Dzingel had a goal and an assist, Thomas Chabot had two assists and Anderson made 49 saves for Ottawa (4-4-2), which has lost three straight.
"[Anderson] was our best player tonight," Senators forward Matt Duchene said. "He was outstanding and a huge reason why we got the point."
Alex Tuch scored twice, Erik Haula had two assists and Marc-Andre Fleury made 19 saves for Vegas (5-5-1), which set a team record for shots in a game with 53. Its previous high was 49 against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 21, 2017.
"We had a ton of shots and a ton of chances early on in the game and nothing was going in," Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said. "We just stuck with it, kept working hard, and I thought we played an excellent game."

Dzingel gave the Senators a 3-2 lead at 7:49 of the third period on a one-timer off a pass from Chris Wideman at the bottom of the right circle. Tuch scored 28 seconds later on deflection that went under the arm of Anderson to tie it 3-3.
Duchene made it 1-0 at 3:08 of the first period when he picked up a rebound in front off Cody Ceci's initial shot and scored short side off the crossbar.
Bobby Ryan extended the lead to 2-0 at 8:52 of the second period with a power-play goal. Mark Stone's shot ricocheted off the boards behind the net to Ryan, who shot into an open net from low in the right circle.
Tuch deked Anderson before finishing with a backhand on a breakaway to cut it to 2-1 at 15:14.
"[Tuch] is an important player within our team and we missed him when he was out," Gallant said. "I thought tonight he really skated well. … He made an end-to-end rush that was an outstanding goal. It made everybody excited. It made our fans really excited and I know the guys on our bench were pretty happy."

Ryan Reaves tied it 2-2 on the power play at 18:21, scoring on a rebound at the top of the crease. It was the first power-play goal of his NHL career.
"You've got to give them credit," Chabot said. "They played a really good game. They put a lot of pucks on net and, obviously, it's a good thing we had [Anderson] in between the pipes. I think he did an amazing, unbelievable job."

They said it

"It was a fun game to be a part of. The energy was great. We love playing in this building. [It's] easy to get up for, easy as far as energy level. It's just a fun place to be, a fun place to play." -- Senators goaltender Craig Anderson
"It's easy to play with confidence when you're going out there and if you make a mistake, you get thrown back out there and you're getting ice time like I am. I don't know if I've ever had that opportunity in my career up until this point." -- Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves

Need to know

Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki was given a game misconduct at 15:29 of the first period after he hit Golden Knights forward Cody Eakin in the head. Gallant did not have an update Eakin.
