The Panthers (15-16-5) won three games in a row for the first time this season.
Mike Condon made 37 saves for the Senators (11-15-8), who have lost three games in a row.
Reimer, who started for the ninth consecutive game, got his first shutout of the season. Reimer is 5-3-1 since Roberto Luongo was injured Dec. 4 and has allowed 14 goals in his past seven games.
"I think it's just a matter of settling in," Reimer said. "I think that's helped me, to keep it super simple. I just felt good the last couple of games and seeing the puck. When it comes down to a game like tonight with a shutout, obviously a lot of things have to go your way. There were a couple of posts and a couple of big blocks when guys had open nets. Anytime you get a shutout, it's indicative of how hard your teammates work in front of you."

With the Panthers leading, Reimer stopped Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson on a shorthanded breakaway at 13:33 of the second period.
Reimer made back-to-back saves on Senators defenseman Cody Ceci with 4:25 to go in the third.
"You have to give credit to Reimer," said Condon, who started after Craig Anderson became ill Friday. "He made 10 really, really great saves that could easily have been goals. They had their chances too. It was just an example of one of those goalie battles tonight that we came out on the wrong end of. It's always frustrating."
Huberdeau got some room against Senators forward Mark Stone coming into the Ottawa zone and took a pass from Nick Bjugstad in the slot. Huberdeau scored on Condon to the stick side at 1:36 of the second period.
"We made one mistake there and it cost us on the rush and they capitalized on it," Senators coach Guy Boucher said. "The rest of the game I thought we played great defensively and kept a lot of those shots on the outside."
Huberdeau scored two goals in a 4-2 win against the Minnesota Wild on Friday.
"[Huberdeau] is playing with a lot of passion the last couple games," Panthers coach Bob Boughner said. "Sometimes it's hard to be consistent every night for 82 games … when he moves his feet, he's a heck of a hockey player. I just like the passion he's been playing with the last couple days."
The Senators outshot the Panthers 18-8 in the third period.
"I think In the first two periods what was missing was that crash to the net," Boucher said. "We played desperate in the third period. If we would have had that second like we had the third, we would have given ourselves a chance. Does it mean we win? Not necessarily; if the goalie played like he did in the third period, you might still get the same result.
"Definitely, guys didn't quit. Guys pushed, and in that third period you saw the guys wanted it real bad but couldn't get that goal."

They said it

"We've dug ourselves a very big hole (in the standings). We all know that. We're aware of that and we're doing everything we can to get ourselves out of it, but unfortunately we haven't been able to find ways to win games like this when it's 1-0, 2-1. Those are the games we were really good at last year." -- Senators captain Erik Karlsson
"There were a lot of great things for 40 minutes and then our goalie had to take over after that." -- Panthers coach Bob Boughner
